Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

My life at the moment is completely different to how it once was. I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia and depression as well as struggling with self harm and overexercising. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
And since 2012 i have been declared healthy from my eating disorder.

I have been blogging for 7 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I now blog about recovery, my life, veganism and positivity!

Recovery progress of the week

It may be Christmas, but it is still Sunday and that means Recovery progress of the week!! And because of Christmas you might have even more progress and successes to share... maybe things you have achieved or overcome and you are proud over but maybe no one has noticed those achievements? Comment below and feel proud over yourself and share your achievements!!

Lets get a whole bunch of positivity going and inspiration flowing, hahaha! Because maybe even if you havent been able to overcome a fear or challenge yourself maybe you can get inspired by others who have?

I dont have any progress (i.e life progress) of the week.... i havent exactly had anything or done anything to progress in, and thats how it is sometimes, haha. Or well, unless you count me trying to gather together a bunch of online friends to meet and eat lunch someday (thats definitely a step outside of my comfort zone!), and also trying to gather all my in real high school friends to meet someday and catch up! Though those arent exactly progress or "facing fears", so not so sure why i am naming them?!

Anyway...  if you dont have any achievements from this week, what are your goals for next week and the last week of the year? :)

  1. Happy Christmas Izzy! Hope you are having a lovely break with Daisy and your family :)

I did a bunch of baking on Friday and Saturday....and I've been allowing myself to enjoy some with no guilt! When I'm the one doing the baking, sometimes I start over analyzing all the ingredients and I try and change the recipe to make it "healthier". But I didn't do that this year!
And I've been pretty much following my meal plan, but allowing for some flexibility and treats here and there!
Not much exercise has been happening, but I know I'll get back into routine soon enough :) for now, I'm going to enjoy reading my new books and watching Netflix

  2. I had a christmas achievement which was eating a mince pie💪🏼 May seem pathetic but I haven't eaten a mince pie for years due to my ED and it's safe to say I faced a fear food yesterday (AND I actually enjoyed it!)

  3. Just eating all the food and being the person to finish the leftovers. That's my achievement.

  4. I allowed myself to try a piece of cake my friend has made :) And I spent a day with only resting without feeling any guilt. Hope you had an amazing Christmas :)

  5. I'm not sure if I should mention this on here.. it might be triggering? It's the truth though so Izzy if you feel like it's too harsh or sth then feel free to delete this comment! So my achievement is that I made it through this Christmas alive. There are numerous reasons that made me have extreme anxiety and suicidal thoughts (not at all ED related btw! I enjoyed a shit ton of super delicious food :D) but it's all depression wise. Which is ' clinical depression' as they call it i.e. due to my current circumstances (my illness and surgery etc.)
So yeah, I managed to get through this Christmas days as well as preparing one of the dinners! Which was ALL VEGAN! Of course all of my food was vegan hahah but this particular dinner I made for the family was a three course dinner that I veganized :D

  6. As you know Izzy I`ve been making lots of vegan dishes for myself and the progress of the week is one you and I can both share - my partner has voiced an interest in trying the vegan food himself! And this coming from a devout meat eater! I can`t say he is completely converted but he is now willing to try this food :)
Good news? Another small difference :)
