Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

My life at the moment is completely different to how it once was. I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia and depression as well as struggling with self harm and overexercising. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
And since 2012 i have been declared healthy from my eating disorder.

I have been blogging for 7 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I now blog about recovery, my life, veganism and positivity!

If you learn to cope and change your thoughts life will be easier and much more appreciated

Real recovery restores autonomy. #anorexiarecovery:
"Your eating disorder is lying to you." Yes, but the words can sound so convincing when they come in the form of your own voice.:

Food is necessary like air. You don't count your breaths, so don't count your calories. #edrecovery #truth #health:
"Love yourself first, and your eating disorder last. If recovery hurts, that means it’s working. If it hurts, that means you’re healing." #edrecovery #eatingdisorders #recoveryquotes:

I dont think it hurts to have some reminders in recovery? To remember that even though it may be tough and scary it is worth it in the end. But also to remember that recovery isnt about numbers its not about eating X calories or weighing X kg, its about changing your life to a healthier and more balanced one, its about reaching a healthy mindset and finding healthy coping mechanisms. In the end anyone can gain weight or eat a certain amount of calories but that doesnt dictate whether you are recovered or not. You need to focus on your mind and facing your fears. Dont compare your recovery to anyone else instead focus on what is best for YOU, what choices you need to make to be the healthiest and happiest version of YOU!!! Fight your fears and let go of the control, things will be ok and you can keep going!! Recovery is worth it i promise!!! Creating a life you love and learning how to cope is what will make you appreciate life and feel happy, because unfortunatly life isnt amazing just because you recover, however if you MAKE IT amazing and learn how to cope with stress and difficult situations, then you can find the positives in each day and feel that life is amazing despite difficult siutations!!!

Learn to love life and learn to love yourself!!!

  1. So what would you say was the best thing(s) about recovery?

  2. I really appreciate these types of strong recovery messages. I don't believe there is any room for coddling in recovery - not in the end, for maintaining it anyway. There's not a lot of room for being gentle and allowing slips and trips. For me, I need the strength, the harshness of the naked truth. My disorder is based on lies and it wishes me dead. Full stop. I don't want to spend my life justifying behaviours, living in almost-recovery. I want full freedom and nothing short of that will do.

  3. I totally agree with you! I need to hear the harsh truth of my ED and what exactly it is doing to my body and mind. I agree with your comment that the ED is based on lies - what it is telling us is far far different to what it actualy IS doing.
Hearing the truth has made me want to turn it all around - and I too am very thankful for reading these types of messages and posts.
    Thankyou Izzy xx
