Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

I am a generally happy girl who loves running, going to the gym and eating food!! Though my life has been very different.
I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia & purging tendencies & over exercising. I was depressed and self harmed. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
After alot of struggles, lots of ups and downs, suicide attempts, tears, anxiety, panic and never thinking i would be healthy.
I am now declared healthy from anorexia nervosia.

I have been blogging for 4 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I am happy and healthy and living my life. Going to school, meeting friends and trying to find myself in this world.

I write about my daily life, but also try to write posts about how it was when i was sick, advice and tips.
I am open and friendly, so dont be scared about writing a post or sending me an email at:

Random facts about me

I love eating lunch/dinner food for breakfast and then breakfast food for dinner!!

I am super scared of spiders and can get nightmares after seeing huge spiders.

When i cant decide which tea i want i make both.

I don't actually like being in cars or boats.

I've once drank a liter coffee in the morning as well as breakfast.

I can't sleep if I'm hungry. Hence why I usually eat big night snacks.

I love having long hair but at times I just want to cut it short as my hair keeps getting in the way.

I think I'm flexible but really I'm not, haha.

Ever since I sprained my able doing step ups I haven't dared to do step ups or box jumps.

I always pick at scabs, scars and bumps on my skin even if I know I shouldn't.

I often eat snacks while making food hahha I. E if I cook lunch or dinner I'll eat something while making it... unless I have a meal box and can just heat it up. .. then I have enough patience to wait for that!

I am 99% of the time on time or early and can't stand when people are late, unless they have informed me they will be late then that's fine!

Anyway... just some random facts (?) About me! ! Feel free to share any random facts about you, anonymous or not :)

  1. Here are some random things about me :)
I love routines...I get ready for school in exactly the same way each morning. I love the predictability.
Strawberries are one of my favourite fruits, but I HATE strawberry flavoured things.
I'd rather read and do homework than watch movies and go shopping.
Being late is a HUGE pet peeve of mine.
I still sleep with a stuffed animal....a panda to be exact

    1. The strawberry thing is like me and chocolate, i love chocolate but i cant stand chocolate ice cream, milkshakes, chocolate milk etc XD

And thank you for sharing your randoms about you, i love finding out things like this about people even if i dont know who you are!!

  2. I hate spiders too!
I love being on time for things and cant stand it if im late
I get nervous about really stupid things like heights and meeting new people but an usually fine in the end!
I am really organised and hate it when other people are not!
Ii still sleep with 2 teddies in my bed even though I should have probably gotten ridge of them years and years go!

    1. I am the same with feeling nervous, such as i get really nervous when meeting new people or making phone calls or other things like that. A type of social anxiety i guess.

  3. Same with spiders :D
Mentioning stuffed animals: I have a plush snail...
My phone is 9 minuites early, so I won't be late from anywhere
I'm so afraid of eating too much that I remove the crumbs that are stuck in my braces, because I'm afraid of swallowing them

    1. I am glad that i am not alone with the fear of spiders!!!

Hahaha, i tried changing the clock in the car so that my mum would be on time but it just made her more late XD

You shouldnt be scared of eating or eating too much.... think what will those crumbs really do`? You shouldnt be scared of them, or scared of eating too much. Your body needs energy and nutrients. It is a fear which you need to overcome and try to face!!

  4. I hate being late and get so annoyed when other people are too. I arrive far too early rather than be late - I prefer to wait for an appointment!
I always use the same mug first thing in the morning and last thing at night
I can`t stand eating mixed vegetables - I separate them all out on my plate but still buy the mixed bags!
I still have a doll from my childhood in my bedroom - and teddies :)
I like a routine to my day and always start the day with a walk
I can`t stand the TV being up loud, I`m forever turning the volume down and my partner is turning it up
I love fresh flowers in the house but hate arranging them
I can`t resist squeezing spots - even other peoples, and peeling off peeling sunburn!
If theres a spider in the room I won`t go in that room again until I can see its dead

    1. I also hate when people are late... i have no patience for them!!!
Morning walks are such a great way to start the day - just remember to eat more when you go for a walk :):)

  5. Hi Izzy - I`ve been doing some reading just recently about how our food is grown/produced ie organic v mass produced and it said that some food intolerances can be minimised by eating organic rather than mass produced foods as it was often what the food contained rather than the food itself that was causing the problem. One example was milk - grain fed cows were more likely to produce milk causing intolerance problems than grass fed cows (organic).
I was wondering whether you paid particular attention to eating organic now your diet is plant based, and if so whether you noticed any difference?
It is well known that organic is supposed to be better for you but I didn't realise to what extent until now, and are seriously thinking about switching to organic if it helps my food choices and therefore my health.
    Any thoughts?

    1. Hmmm, well for some products organic is better but not always the case. In general most people have some type of lactose intolerance i.e lactose isnt natural for humans so it is not strange that people can feel bloated or gassy when they consume lactose. And then also the fact that people consume so much lactose which makes thing worse and if a person is stressed that can lead to stomach problems and stress can lead to intolerances etc

I try to buy organic as much as i can but it is more expensive so i cant always buy organic. I dont know whether organic necessarily means better or healthier more that it has less chemicals and better for the planet most often - but not always.

You can always try organic milk and see if it helps, but if you have stomach issues then it might be better to just focus on other types of milk rather than cows milk. (I know you have written and asked for suggestions before!)
