Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

My life at the moment is completely different to how it once was. I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia and depression as well as struggling with self harm and overexercising. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
And since 2012 i have been declared healthy from my eating disorder.

I have been blogging for 7 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I now blog about recovery, my life, veganism and positivity!

Find what makes you special and unique.

This week - and today - i want you to think about, What makes you YOU? What makes you special and unique. Focus on the positives about yourself and who you are.

It is so easy to just see the negatives and all the things that need to change, it is far to easy to get caught up in everything that is wrong and wishing you were anyone but yourself. But if you spend some time each day, just appreciating yourself and noticing the positives about yourself then you will feel so much better about yourself.

Focus on your own positives, what are you good at? What things do you like about yourself? What can you compliment yourself about?

You are special just the way you are and you need to remember that, and what better way than to do it yourself. Each day this week, think positive thoughts about yourself. Be your own cheerleader!!

And as i am also going to do this this week (Trying to boost self confidence and just feeling good about myself, ill write a few positives here. And feel free to share some of YOUR positives, the things you like about yourself!!) And its ok to boast and brag and be confident in yourself, the more the better, be proud over yourself! (I.e and i know we're all smart enough to not brag or boast about thigh gaps, X kilo lost or things like that ;) Though feel free to comment about your weight gain/recovery, that is always positive and inspiring to others!)

What makes me me? What are my positives?

My non-judgementalness
My calmness (mostly!)
My abilitiy to give good advice and to listen
Caring for others - in my own way
My willingness to help others and care for others
My strength, both physical and mental
My ability to take on new challenges. To learn and grow and to know its ok to make mistakes, but i need to atleast try and to learn from mistakes.
To not scared to be new or do things on my own.
My independantness (Though in a way this can be a weakness as well, as sometimes i am too independant and dont ask for help even when necessary)

If you want, share YOUR positives or what makes you, you?

  1. Izzy, I want to thank you for your inspiring posts... Im in a battle with anorexia and your blog is really something i need right now<3 i want to say that you are really an amazing and beautiful girl! I hope i'll be able to enjoy my life as much as you enjoy your one. Sending you love:-)

  2. You're so pretty, Izzy!!

Right now I'm feeling super positive because it's Monday and the start of a new week!!! I just finished an intense workout and I'm going to have a yummy lunch in an little bit. I'm proud of the fact that I never give up, and will do anything I put my mind to. I'm proud of my leadership skills. And it makes me feel really good when younger students tell me that I inspire them, and they view me as a role model. That's a position I never thought I'd be in, and it amazes me. I'm proud of my fabulous cooking skills, my independence, and dedication.

    Have a wonderful Monday!!
