Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

My life at the moment is completely different to how it once was. I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia and depression as well as struggling with self harm and overexercising. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
And since 2012 i have been declared healthy from my eating disorder.

I have been blogging for 7 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I now blog about recovery, my life, veganism and positivity!

Dont forget to live life and make the best of each day

Make sure to make the best of each day because time is not something you can get back. But also, a lifetime might seem like a very long time and in a sense it is.... I mean most people cant think 40,50,60 years into the future... its too far off so it feels like forever. But dont sit around and wait....

We often sit and wait for things, and of course somethings we have to... I mean if we have a trip to a country planned in 6 months time, you cant exactly move it forward - and it is good to have goals as well. But that doesnt mean that the 6 months until you go on holiday you do nothing and just wait for the holiday, you still need to live life and make the best of each day. There is something positive in each day, even if at times it is extremely hard to find that positive, but each morning brings a new day where you have the chance to live your life and make the best of it. And if you are in a situation where you cant really live life, for example if you are in hospital/inpatient care, then the best you can do to "live your life" is to focus on your daily goals and what will help you recover, which will then bring you to your bigger goals. Having goals is a form of motivation and can be great, but dont let all the time inbetween those goals just go to waste.... each day needs to be lived. And when i mean lived i dont  mean, "Yolo, lets party and drive all night. Never sleep, never go to study or school, because we're living like it's our last day." I mean more in the sense of, make each day good... in some way or another. But also, caring for those around you..... showing that you care for other people. Whether its text asking them if they are ok or how their day was, or giving them a hug or talking to them, or even writing notes or something, because even if it sounds morbid.....  Accidents happen, and you dont want the last thing you said to someone, to be something you regret in the long term. Try not to stay angry at people, even if at times that is difficult.

All i really wanted to say this morning is to make the best of each 24 hours you get. Sometimes life is boring, it is routine and habits. You feel you never leave the house or never do something, but then instead of complaning about that... make a change. Set up a goal so you do something different everyday and try new things and get out of the house. Have something to look forward to, but also making the best of each day.

I hope you all have a great day, and make this day a good day. Do something nice for yourself, do something nice for others and try to think positive thoughts. Let go of yesterday or what happened during the week, instead focus on today and how you can make today a good day.

  1. Hope you are having a good day Izzy! Today is a better day for me - not feeling so awful and bloated so that has put me in a better mood already!
As for the rest of the day - who knows, but I`m feeling better about things so that's a positive that can only grow from there

    1. I hope you've had a lovely weekend, its always a nice feeling when the bloating passes :)
