Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

My life at the moment is completely different to how it once was. I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia and depression as well as struggling with self harm and overexercising. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
And since 2012 i have been declared healthy from my eating disorder.

I have been blogging for 7 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I now blog about recovery, my life, veganism and positivity!

Sunday morning

Good morning :)

Life at the moment feels a bit like a rollercoaster, up and then down and then up again. A good day followed by a bad day followed by a good day. Yesterday was not such a great day so today I am determined to make a good day!! It's like they balance themselves out. ... though of course the aim is to have 99% good days and even in bad situations, try to think positive and see the positives/good in the situation, even if it means thinking in very long terms!

Yesterday I also felt like I had so much to write but I couldn't quote formulate it, so I would get half way only to either save it as a draft or delete the text completely. Sometimes words and thoughts tumble out into an incoherent mess! It must be hard for those who are professional bloggers and have their blog as their job, because Somedays you just don't feel inspired or you can't seem to formulate yourself or male your ideas concrete. Blogging definitely isn't as easy as it seems, also that you have to think about what you post,  who is reading and who might see it in the future. So many things can't or shouldn't be published online.

Anyway, my plans for the day are to head to the gym (and it feels so good that I feel absaloutly no pressure to spend hours doing cardio because of all the Christmas and new years food I ate. The cardio machines at the gym are crowded, well the gym in general is crowded at the moment.  And I don't have a problem with that, as long as the people put back their weights and don't take an unnecessarily large area to workout and just sit on their phone instead. But anyway, it's ok to enjoy cardio and want to do cardio but I am glad that I atleast don't feel pressured to spend hours doing it to compensate and instead do what I feel like.) One of my goals this year is to stretch more and I'm excited to see how I progress in the next few months, I am sure that doing regular stretching is going to help me lots in other areas of life and also different areas in training!

Now I'm going to get ready for the day and try to make the best of it!!!

I hope you all have a lovely Sunday and try to think positively today :)

  1. Have a lovely weekend Izzy :) X

  2. Have a great day Izzy!
Do you have any good ideas for pre workout snacks that would be easy to carry with me in school or work but still would fuel enough before a workout in the afternoon? I would love some ideas :)

    1. Here are some good ideas :)

Rice cakes with pb (can put the on on first and then 2 rice cakes and keep them packed & more than just that ;))
Fruit - bananas are a great pre workout
      Dried nuts and fruit
Boiled eggs (if you keep them in a small contakner)
Home made raw food balls or bars. Or home made healthy muffins etc
Bread with toppings (that can be ok with normal temperature)

The best thing is to go for food with fast carbs and protein. Such as fruit, dried fruit, dark chocolate, rice cakes and then some protein as well.

Just some snacks that I could think of now :)
