Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

My life at the moment is completely different to how it once was. I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia and depression as well as struggling with self harm and overexercising. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
And since 2012 i have been declared healthy from my eating disorder.

I have been blogging for 7 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I now blog about recovery, my life, veganism and positivity!

If you have any questions leave them in the comment section as i am much quicker at answering there, otherwise you can always send an email: lifewithoutanorexia@hotmail.com

  5. Hi Izzy:)
I've got a question: So I struggle with an ED as well and was inpatient. Now I'm at home again, but it seems that my parents mistrust me very easily, if for example I don't eat my potatos or eat slow. :D
So what can I do to make them understand that I'm much better now? Because I feel really bad by their "accuses".
    Alles&Nichts

PS: I love your personal posts maybe you can keep the quantity of the last weeks up! Your advice posts are very helpful too!

    1. I'm sorry, but that is to keep the spam away. Otherwise I would get lots of spam comments and weight loss comments etc. Though it is possible to comment from mobile even if you have to verify. Otherwise you can always click to make the blog the non mobile version and then comment ?

  10. what to do with your time if not engaging in ed behaviours, how to cope with seeing the scales go up, how many calories can actually make a difference to your weight (i.e. is 16 going to make your weight go up if you ate a little more veg say), exercise addiction, more food ideas for people at the beginning of recovery i.e. simple ones that contain all your nutritional needs not just chocolate, cakes and things that look way too hard to even begin with.

  14. i would like to know how to cope as an out patient when you have no money to help and nhs won't help you as you've been in and out of hospital and now you are on your own.

  15. yes - me too, how to go it alone without any NHS help. Also when and how to make increases to you meal plan, how quickly you should make these changes, and time inbetween each change. And what to do if you have been following the meal plan and your weight has stayed the same? logically eat more - but when? what meals and how?
love your posts about food and recipes, love your personal posts too - so would like to see more of these! The advice posts are very useful too, please continue these!

  16. - and also how long the physical symptoms of early recovery last? For example I am so tired all of the time, my sleep is broken and I nap during the day, I find if I fall asleep it is only for bout an hour and then I`m wide awake again - this is what my nights have been like since I started recovery. I need to sleep during the day just to get through the day, but the sleep is not good - its almost as if I`m to exhausted to sleep properly and keep waking up - is this normal in recovery? doesn't make sense because I feel so tired and exhausted.

Topics like this would b good. Also new food intolerences in recovery, how long do they last? There are quite a few foods I cannot tolerate now but I could before the ed

  17. Hi Izzy. Love your blog- it's very inspirational and helpful!
I would love to know any tips on how to overcome the want to be unhealthy. For example, how to overcome wanting to restrict to be the 'unhealthiest' or to feel as though you achieve something by only eating a certain number of calories.

    Thank you so much

  20. Hi Izzy! I want to say that your blog is so inspirational and you are amazing for fighting through everything and helping people! I would love to read more food posts and personal posts, but I would also love it if you could post some things about accepting yourself as an introvert/not wanting to be around others all the time/not feeling bad for bowing out of social situations (not due to ED or being antisocial, but just because that's 'me') xxx
