Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

I am a generally happy girl who loves running, going to the gym and eating food!! Though my life has been very different.
I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia & purging tendencies & over exercising. I was depressed and self harmed. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
After alot of struggles, lots of ups and downs, suicide attempts, tears, anxiety, panic and never thinking i would be healthy.
I am now declared healthy from anorexia nervosia.

I have been blogging for 4 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I am happy and healthy and living my life. Going to school, meeting friends and trying to find myself in this world.

I write about my daily life, but also try to write posts about how it was when i was sick, advice and tips.
I am open and friendly, so dont be scared about writing a post or sending me an email at:

7 questions about me

1) What would your perfect 21st Birthday be like?

As you may know by now I am not huge into the birthday celebrations but having a nice day doing things I love is the best way to celebrate my birthday!
Though for this answer I am going to pretend that I live in a sunny country as I wish it was warm weather during my birthday! !
So I would want to start my day with a workout session  (whatever it is I feel like doing that day), then brunch with my family where there is lots of fruit and vegetables,  waffles, salmon, eggs, vegan desserts, smoothies,  juices etc
Then we would go for a walk along the beach and then spend some time at the beach and then we'd go get fro yo with lots and lots of toppings!!! And then I could go shopping with unlimited amount of money (i.e buy more training clothes ^-^ ) head home where we would eat my favourite dinner, I'd get ready to go out and then go out with my friends and just sit at a fancy bar, drink fancy cocktails and talk, maybe go dancing as well! !
not super different from how I already celebrate my birthday. But just doing what I enjoy and being with family :)

2) What are your favourite podcasts and which ones would you recommend?

I only listen to (tyre podcasts and tyngre träningssnack :) )so they are in swedish! They always make me laugh and teach me new things,  though of course I take the information with a pinch of salt and don't trust everything I hear. I don't have time to listen to any other podcasts but if you have any you can recommend just comment below :)

3) Which products do you prefer to colour your hair with?

I use schwarzkopf. I bleach my hair which isn't really recommend as it dries the hair alot but now I'm going to try to just tone it/colour it rather than bleach :)

4) What would your perfect wedding dress look like?

I think I've answered this before actually?  This isnt something I think about but the first image that pops into my head is a strapless dress which then flows below and so you can swirl and the dress just flows ^-^

i would post a picture but because of copyright when it comes to those types of pictures i am not going to do that! and on a sidenote, my mum is now going to see in her history that i have googled wedding dresses, hahahah XD

5) If you have kids, what would you do differently/raise them differently from how your parents did with you?
My parents did raise me well and I don't know if I have any complaints. I mean there are always small things you wish they did differently but then you grow and realise that just because you weren't allowed candy on a Thursday doesn't make your parents bad parents,  if anything it makes them good parents!!
Though if there is one thing I would change is that I wish my parents hadnt forced me to eat so much, this was before I was sick and was underweight due to my CF. Then my parents would force me to
eat and to eat more,  it was of course due to good intentions and wanting me to gain weight but it was something which bothered me alot as I grew up and realised that others weren't being told to eat all the time and I didnt like that whenever there was food over or the last piece it was me who had to eat it even if I didn't want it.
And then I also wish that I hadn't been forced to church each Sunday. Unfortunately that did nothing but make me more anti religious. I don't want to label myself but I think I would call myself an atheist, though this is nothing I want to get into on my blog as everyone has different religions and opinions and that is ok. People should be accepting of other people's beliefs :)

6) Do you have any amazing brownie recipes that are somewhat on the more healthy side i.e. not sugar overloaded and white flour alternatives?

As I am using my mum's iPad and it is all super confusing and takes so much time,  as well as not having old recipes saved and such I will try make a post with some links  to "alternative" brownies and such :) as long as no one fonds it triggering. Otherwise you can look in my recipes tag :)

7) Do you love Christmases and if so, what about them do you like/dislike?
I recently wrote a post about this,  but I love spending time with family, the food, the coziness of Christmas,  baking.... Christmas is just kind of cosy. If you don't get stuck in the last minute Christmas shopping stress and the stress of work and school, then Christmas can be really nice!!

  1. Yayay :) Thanks for answering Izzy. Will definitely go roaming through the recipe tags. And I see your point, having your mum think a wedding is coming up would be sort of a shock. Lol. Your perfect birtjday ideas do sound amazing though. Would love to have a day spent that way too. :)

  2. Spending time with friends and those you love is what makes Christmas so special :D I hope you have an awesome xmas Izzy X

  3. Hope you don`t mind me asking but do you think it was due to your parents making you eat so much when you didn't want it that contributed to you developing anorexia?
