Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

My life at the moment is completely different to how it once was. I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia and depression as well as struggling with self harm and overexercising. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
And since 2012 i have been declared healthy from my eating disorder.

I have been blogging for 7 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I now blog about recovery, my life, veganism and positivity!

If you have any questions leave them in the comment section as i am much quicker at answering there, otherwise you can always send an email: lifewithoutanorexia@hotmail.com

Reasons to fight for recovery

So that one day when someone compliments you, you will believe it!

So that you can look in the mirror and be happy with what you see.

So that you can enjoy food and enjoy eating.

So that you can eat your favourite meals and not think about calories, not feel guilty or feel the need to compensate.

So that you can admit that you are hungry without feeling embarrassed.

So that you can enjoy a form of exercise and not worry about calories burned or compensating for food eaten.

So that you can go on holidays and enjoy everything that the holiday entails and not just worry about different routines and habits and different food.

So that you can look forward to your future and what your future entails.

So that you can set up goals and know that you can achieve them.

So that you can have dreams and goals in your life that motivate you and make you happy.

So that you can find a partner (if you want one) and know that your mental illness wont ruin things.

So that you can be happy about yourself and your body.

So that you can think about more than just food, weight, exercise, calories etc

So that you can study, work, reach goals and not be held back by your mental illness.

So that you can smile and feel happy and know that it isnt fake.

So that you can have a future.

So that your bones can be strong, and your hair wont fall out and your skin wont be dry.

So that your scars can heal and you wont have any fresh self harm scars on your body.

So that you can move on from the anxiety, guilt, fear and controllingness of your mental illness. So that you can live a life without the above.

So that you can drink juice, milk, cappucino, cola, alcohol etc and not feel guilty because of "liquid calories"

So that you dont compare yourself to others and make yourself feel worthless. But you know that you are awesome and dont need to change or dont need to do what others are doing.

So that you can take care of your body and rest when you need it. So that you can nourish your body and take care of it.

So that you can have kids if you want.

So that you can have energy to live life and do things you enjoy.

So that you can experience new things and go on adventures and be spontaneous or do something new.

So that you dont cry yourself to sleep.

So that you arent constantly filled with anxiety, fear and guilt.

So that you can feel that you are worth living and worth having a life.

So that you can feel beautiful.

So that you can feel wanted and accepted.

So that you can try new foods, listen to new music, see new films.

So that you can enjoy spending time with family, friends, partner(s)

So that holidays and special events/occasions are something to be enjoyed and not something to be feared.

So that you actually live life and not just survive.

So that you have healthy coping mechanisms with the ups and downs in life and not just resort to unhealthy behaviours.

So that your body and mind are healthy.

So that you are free from your mental illness.

  2. Thank you for posting this! I read it this morning and now I feel full of hope <3 I am almost recovered from anorexia, but I still have behaviors that I haven´t been able to let go :( And I hate myself for that
But reading those sentences made me feel like maybe I can achieve full recovery. I need to save this post so that I can reread it once in a while just to remind myself why I need to face my fears and why I need to face that anxiety feeling.

    Thank you!
