Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

My life at the moment is completely different to how it once was. I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia and depression as well as struggling with self harm and overexercising. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
And since 2012 i have been declared healthy from my eating disorder.

I have been blogging for 7 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I now blog about recovery, my life, veganism and positivity!

If you have any questions leave them in the comment section as i am much quicker at answering there, otherwise you can always send an email: lifewithoutanorexia@hotmail.com

Ready to run in the sun and get covered in colour!

June 7th 2015 and it's time for Color me Rad!!! Yayyy.
I ran it last year with 2 of my friends - though i ran it and they walked it, but it was still fun being there with them. This year i am running it alone (well not alone, as there will hundreds of other people there as well!)! I had tried to get my sister to register for the race as well, but she wasnt feeling confident or ready enough. But maybe next year :)

Last year was so much fun, so hopefully it will be just as good this year! And hopefully i will be able to breathe, haha because at the moment i'm only half able to breathe XD But it's fun being there anyway, its the whole experience and having fun. There is no time taken as that is not what the run is about, which i think is great. It means that many more people join and even walk the course if they have to. It should be about having fun, being active, laughing and moving your body!

If you ever get the chance to run the colour run/color me rad i definitely recommend it!!

There will be lots of photos posted this evening - hopefully! So if you dislike those types of posts... well i'm sorry, haha XD

Today i am just going to have lots of fun, enjoy myself! And then this evening i am going to do something with my half brother (who is now in Sweden with my dad XD) and my sister. And then this evening.... prepare for tomorrow. Im so excited i just want to jump up and down... it's a good thing i have a run/race today so that i can get rid of all this excitment and energy :):)

Puss o kram, Amanda.

  2. Hey Izzy!
I have a question and I would just like to hear your opinion... :)
Well, I have been in recovery for a little over a year now and I still don't have my period back. I do know that it takes time, but I am wondering wether I should stop exercising completely until I get it back... I started exercising again quite early, at a somewhat healthy BMI (probably 17/18), but have gained the rest anyways. And also I eat a lot, usually around 2500kcal, often even more! But I also have been exercising around 5 times a week for the last months. It is not an ED thing, I really enjoy running, going to the gym and yoga and it has become kind of my therapy, so it would be hard to give it up, but I don't know...
I have read different things, but some people say that exercise can be dangerous no matter how moderate you do it, if you don't have your period.
Have you written about this already? Or are there any pages you could recommend?
    Well, anyways, thank you. :)

    1. It's great that you enjoy exercise and do it because you like it ;) I would recommend that you rest for a little while. Reduce to maybe 3 days a week and eat the same amount. Remember that BMI 17/18 is still very low so you might need to gain some more weight and/or fat if you don't have a healthy fat procent. Give it a little while, because as you wrote it's not good to exercise too much if you don't have your period. Otherwise go to a doctor and see if maybe yiu need hormone pills but I think that you just need some rest and to gain a little weight ;)
