Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

My life at the moment is completely different to how it once was. I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia and depression as well as struggling with self harm and overexercising. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
And since 2012 i have been declared healthy from my eating disorder.

I have been blogging for 7 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I now blog about recovery, my life, veganism and positivity!

What are your favourite songs at the moment?

At the moment my 2 favourite songs which ive had on repeat lately are:

We got something - Skinny days

Save my soul - Daye Jack

What's your favourite thing to eat at the moment?

Hmmm my 2 absaloute favourite things which i just want to eat all the time at the moment are:

Salted nuts & my favourite salad combination - For those of you who dont know what that combo is: It's Chicken, falafels, cottage cheese, sundried tomatoes and avocado... and if i feel like it some crunchy lettuce. That combo... Mmmmm, i could eat like a 2kg combination of it at once XD

Do you sleep with socks on or off?
Always on.... my feet are like ice cubes so i need socks on. Infact i have quite bad blood circulation which might be due to my low blood pressure and my slow heart beat... my hands are always cold as well, though i dont personally feel that they are cold, i feel warm all the time. But when others feel my hands or feet they comment about how ice cold they are XD Also the fact that feet kind of creep me out and i find my own feet disgusting (i.e i have runners feet, where there are always blisters and sores on them XD)

Do you sleep with the closet door opened or closed?

I dont have a closet in my room, but at my boyfriends place he has a closet in his room and it always needs to be closed. Not sure why, i think it's just that if its open i will start lying there and looking into the closet and wondering what is in there .... not that i think anything scary will come out of there or suddenly appear, but i just start thinking too much, so its better to just close the door XD

Do you want to live in Sweden for the rest of your life?
I dont know if i want to live in Sweden for the rest of my life. Maybe from the age of around 25-40 i will move somewhere, but not sure where. However when i am older i think i want to work and live in Sweden, but moving somewhere else isnt a totally 'no' if i put it that way :) I am pretty open about it!!

  1. Do you think it is bad circulation? As I always get really , really bad cramp in my feet.. I thought that it would get better with weight gain, but it is still very painful!!

    Thanks Izzy Xx

    1. I think so... or its something anyway because my hands and feet are always really cold and i often lose feeling in them/i get pins and needles in them.
Im not sure why you get cramps in your feet, though sometimes you can get cramps if you need more magnesium. Otherwise if you do alot of exercising, that can cause cramps and pain in bones/muscles... though i dont know if you do exercise or not. But ging to a doctor can be a good idea!

  2. Is it normal to get pain in the hip joint, like one both or one side of the hip, while very sick with anorexia? While I had a very low BMI, the sides of my hip (especially left side) would hurt so bad while walking and sitting. It only got worse, and it got to the point where lying in bed hurt so bad It made me cry! That's the reason I wanted to recover: to get away from the PHYSICAL pain!

    1. When you are underweight and not getting enough energy then you can get pain in your bones. There are alot of consequences and pains when you are underweight and undernourished, you can get pains in your bones, muscles etc etc and it should get better with weight gain. Though it could also be osteoperosis, so it can be good to go to a doctor and see if maybe you need some pain relievers or something else. But gaining weight and making sure your body gets enough energy can definitely help :)

  3. Great post! nice to get to know you more :) xo
