Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

I am a generally happy girl who loves running, going to the gym and eating food!! Though my life has been very different.
I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia & purging tendencies & over exercising. I was depressed and self harmed. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
After alot of struggles, lots of ups and downs, suicide attempts, tears, anxiety, panic and never thinking i would be healthy.
I am now declared healthy from anorexia nervosia.

I have been blogging for 4 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I am happy and healthy and living my life. Going to school, meeting friends and trying to find myself in this world.

I write about my daily life, but also try to write posts about how it was when i was sick, advice and tips.
I am open and friendly, so dont be scared about writing a post or sending me an email at:

Your mind can be your best friend or your worst enemy

Remember that your mind controls you. It controls your actions and thoughts... it can be your worst enemy or your best friend. And i can tell you from experience, dont let it be your worst enemy. You need to change the negative thoughts, change the thought processes in your head that you dont want or dont like. It may sound impossible or even strange, but yes... you can infact change thought processes.

I.e you begin critisizing yourself or having negative thoughts... then begin thinking differently, remind yourself that you are not your flaws. You are so much more than your body and the negative thoughts. Think positive ones... and if you do that long enough over a period of time then there will be less negative thoughts and when you get them you can just change them!!

Eat enough food so that your body and brain get the energy they need each day (FYI. The brain needs about 800kcal a day just to function and your BMR is basically what your body needs if you were in a coma, so you need even more than your BMR. This is just a little note to make you realise that when you eat too little it makes it harder for you to think clearly, make rational decisions, focus etc because your brain isnt getting the energy it needs - also remember, the brain (and body/cells) need healthy fats!! So make sure to eat things like avocado, salmon, seeds, nuts etc)

Eating D vitamin, getting enough sunlight and fresh air, doing things you enjoy, surrounding yourself with people you like... those all help you to become friends with your mind. To change the negative thoughts. The hard work has to come from you but it is worth it. Because otherwise you will live like a prisoner of your own mind, in a dark dark place, and thats not where anybody wants to stay. So you need to fight your way out of that hole/darkness and begin to see the light and be "friends" with your mind!!
