Writing my posts takes anywhere from 5 minutes to 45 minutes :) So i would say around 60-90+ minutes each day... and somedays more when i have alot of comments to reply to :) And if i have time i always try to click onto my readers blogs! On the days where there arent alot of posts or not so many written posts, that often means that i havent had the time to write a post as the long written ones take quite a while to write.
What platform do i use?
I use Blogger!! I want to use Wordpress, or build my own website on Wordpress which was a project i began a few months ago (and i half mentioned a change on my blog) however it turned out that i wouldnt be able to redirect all my posts to the new website. I could put all my posts onto the new one, but if someone were to google for a certain post it would lead back to this blog and not my new one... so i would lose alot if i were to do that. And the whole thing was just very complicated... but in the future i might pay someone to help me so that i can make my blog better because it's very basic and amateur at the moment ;) But at the same time i sort of like it that way... its a real 'just sitting writing my thoughts, trying to help people' blog without all the fancy work. Though i kind of want the fancy blog and work ;);)
Best thing about blogging?
Connecting with so many people from all over the world!!! So many new people and connections i've made :) Serisouly i could travel to many parts of the world and there would be a 'new friend' wanting to meet me there, haha!! :) It's cool!
Also knowing i am helping people, as well as all the lovely messages i recieve! It really brightens my day :)
Worst thing about blogging?
When I feel i cant help people... :( When i try my hardest but the person still isnt motivated then i wish i could just jump through the screen and be there for the person to help them. But the best i can do right now is to try to motivate the person, but the work still has to come from them.
Also the weird emails and haters.... There is alot i could write about these two things, but i'll just leave it with these two words!
Future blogging plans?
There will come a day when i no longer want to/have motivation or time for..... or just don't have anything to write anymore, and then i will stop. Though like i have said for the past 3 years, i dont know when that will be!! I was convinced in autumn 2012 that i would no longer have time for blogging with school and such, however 2,5 years later i am still blogging on a regular basis!! Anything can happen really :)
Tips for someone starting a blog?
Write what you want to write. Have a certain topic - this is important!
Comment on similar blogs. Have a nice blog background and pictures. Try to write without grammar mistakes (hahahaha... i always have grammar mistakes XD so i fail at this, but i know it would be more fun and easier to read if i didnt write so quick and skip the 'autocorrect' step!)
Enjoy blogging... because in the end you should write for yourself instead of the readers. If blogging is your job and you have 100 000+ views per day, then maybe its a different story but if you are a beginning blog. Write interesting things but write for yourself!!
Would i recommend blogging?
I dont really know... I love it, but it isn't for everyone. Alot of time is put into blogging each day and many people start blogs and personal blogs only to realise that its not worth the time or they have nothing to write about. But if you have a certain topic you want to write about or are a great person at debating or writing scientific or interesting articles then it can be great and people will want to read your blog!
Those people who think that blogging is silly and that bloggers and blogging isnt a real job, they are very wrong. I mean i don't even do this proffessionallly (hence the amateur style of blogging) but it is a 24/7 type of thing. I dont take a break on holidays, on my birthday or anything... i always blog and also have my email open 24/7 which i do try to reply to on a regular basis (apart from right now when i am in a state of stress and have no time.). But there is ALOT of work and alot of hours spent infront of the computer when you are a blogger, so it's even harder than a 9-5 job.... and i do this voluntarily!! haha
