Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

My life at the moment is completely different to how it once was. I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia and depression as well as struggling with self harm and overexercising. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
And since 2012 i have been declared healthy from my eating disorder.

I have been blogging for 7 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I now blog about recovery, my life, veganism and positivity!

Taking care of yourself

Something which i believe is super important is taking care of both your body and mind. Taking a moment to just breathe, to wash your face and hair, to put on a scented candle and just relax. Do some writing or drawing and some thinking.... trying to relax your brain and give your brain some mental peace.
    Drinking some warm lemon water and putting cucumber on your eyes.... 2 simple things that can make your body feel more refreshed because you will be surprised how much better you can feel in your body if you atleast once a week take a moment for yourself to take care of your body.

Many people spend their whole life trying to change their body through diet or exercise but never really pausing to give their body some care through moisturizer and yoga! Some would prefer to not look at their body in the mirror at all, hating the way it looks or feels. But then its even more important that you get comfortable with your shape and size because its YOUR body... its what you live in (so to say). Constantly hating your body craves alot of energy and time and just makes you feel sad... it wont get you so far either. If you feel that you are held back because you are always thinking about your body or self conscious then you can miss out on alot of opportunities.

I would recommend that once a week you take a moment where you

1)shut off your mobile, internet etc
2) Drink some water and make your favourite tea.... i can recommend green tea/vanilla rooibos tea/vanilla tea/chai tea among other delicious teas
3) Wash your face, use some products if desired, mositurise your face or put on a face mask
4) wash your hair (though this should of course be done more than once a week... just like facial care :))
5) Watch a film you enjoy or read a book or something calm for your brain...


Just some simple tips. But also make sure to sleep enough, drink enough H2O during the day and getting enough vitamins and minerals is important for your skin, hair, body as well!!
