Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

My life at the moment is completely different to how it once was. I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia and depression as well as struggling with self harm and overexercising. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
And since 2012 i have been declared healthy from my eating disorder.

I have been blogging for 7 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I now blog about recovery, my life, veganism and positivity!

Ask yourself why?

Something which i dont think enough people do is to ask themselves Why they do something.

Many people live lives they hate, doing things they hate but never daring to change. They follow the crowd or settle for less than they deserve. They never question why they do things or why they dont change their situation to something better.

Something which i want You, all of my readers to start asking yourself is Why do you do certain things?

WHY did you skip your lunch?
WHY did you not eat pasta for dinner and only salad?
WHY did you force yourself to go out and run when you didnt want to?
WHY can you only eat X calories?
WHY can you not weigh more than x kilo?
WHY can you not eat cake?
WHY do you have to get up at 6am even when you have the chance to sleep in?
WHY do you do those 100 sit ups and 100 squats before bed?
WHY do you always critisize and bring yourself down ?

Sit down and think about, why you do the things you do`? What result is it that you are after? What are your goals or aims?

I very often ask myself the question of Why i do the things i do. This is what makes me so happy, because i do the things i want to do, that make me happy. I dont force myself to go out and run if i dont want to. I dont not eat cakes because i think i cant. I make choices based on my goals on what i want, not just beacuse everyone else is following a diet. If everyone else was wearing black and i wanted to wear pink i would choose to wear pink, not black just because everyone else was. And its important to know YOUR choices and to know WHY you do the things you do.

  1. Thank you for this post! I asked myself all these questions and actually, I couldn't find a reason why I do/did these silly things. Kind of weird thinking about that now...

    1. I'm glad it helped :).:) it is good to ask yourself and question yiur behaviour... Because sometimes that is all that is needed to make a change!

  2. Sometimes I just act & don't think or pause to reflect on 'why'.

    1. I think many people are like this.... but taking a moment to think about why you do things can help you make better decisions or change certain things in your life.

  3. i had anorexia. now i have BED. sometimes i would ask myself why do i binge, but the only answer is that i like sweets and nothing else. can that be true or does it have to be something deeper? can it simply be the food?
