Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

I am a generally happy girl who loves running, going to the gym and eating food!! Though my life has been very different.
I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia & purging tendencies & over exercising. I was depressed and self harmed. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
After alot of struggles, lots of ups and downs, suicide attempts, tears, anxiety, panic and never thinking i would be healthy.
I am now declared healthy from anorexia nervosia.

I have been blogging for 4 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I am happy and healthy and living my life. Going to school, meeting friends and trying to find myself in this world.

I write about my daily life, but also try to write posts about how it was when i was sick, advice and tips.
I am open and friendly, so dont be scared about writing a post or sending me an email at:

Recovery motivation

  1. Hi Izzy :)
This question is not relevant to this post at all, but in the video you did yesterday, your hair is so long and beautiful!! I was wondering how you grew it so lovely and long?? I've been trying to grow my hair for two years and it is not half as long as yours!
Haha, (i know this is a seriously random question!)
    Thanks :)

    1. Thank you :) Hmm... i dont really do so much for my hair, that might be why. At the moment i have alot of dry ends, but i usually try to cut away the ends so that it looks fresher :)

Things like not brushing your hair when its wet or not straightening or drying your hair too much and also not 'scrubbing' your hair with a towel when its wet. I amnt really the best person to ask about this. But i think having good nutrition and getting enough vitamins and minerals is important as well :)

  2. Hi! I have a question. During your recovery did you experience any digestive issues like indigestion, stomach pain, fullness after eating? If so,how did you manage that and did those problems dissapeared now? Im trying to gain weight but because of stomach pain I can not do this.

    1. Yeah i got alot of that, the best thing is to try to drink some tea such as chammomile tea, drink water, rest. When you have to expand your stomach and eat more it can cause pain as well if you havent eben eating alot or any solid foods for a long time, it will pass. You can always try drinking juice/milk/smoothies and eating things like nuts, dried fruit, granola, cereal with yoghurt etc as that doesnt cause so much discomfort.

  3. p.s. did you manage to restore your periods? how long did it take to get them back?

    1. When i was a healthy weight and had maintained that weight for a while they came back but they were irregular for almost a year.

    2. thank you very much for your replies!
