Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

My life at the moment is completely different to how it once was. I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia and depression as well as struggling with self harm and overexercising. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
And since 2012 i have been declared healthy from my eating disorder.

I have been blogging for 7 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I now blog about recovery, my life, veganism and positivity!

Natures treadmill

When you wake up at 7am and its still dark outside, it can feel a little depressing.... But actually, it looks alot darker from the inside than it is outside!
With a pre-run breakfast consisting of an apple, some raisins, coffee and BCAA (cant eat so much before running but know i need something!) i was ready to start moving my body! After 2 rest days i was filled with energy and it felt like the time just flew by!!
I didnt have a GPS or music or anything, it was just me, my legs and my mind. But it was kind of nice that way... to not know how far, fast or long i ran... or i mean, i know the time i ran because i had a watch on but i dont know speed or distance. And its sort of freeing actually to not know those, but to just run and really enjoy it. Not have to beat some personal time or distance. But also to run without any music. Ive always thought that its awful and i would never be able to run without any music, but thats not the case... infact while i run i just think of so many things - make to do lists, think of posts to write, have random in my head conversations with people, come up with answers to my school work, have random french conversations etc.... yup, all of this in the space of an hour :) Who says i cant multi-task? :)

If you enjoy running and you often have music or a GPS or something on, then try going without them,... see if you can just run and enjoy it :)

Now im eating breakfast, which you can see below! And it was super duper yummy - quark, home made rice pudding (which looks like just rice!), cinnamon, nuts and seeds, 2 cinnamon crisp bread and cofffee in our new Christmas mugs :) This has now set me up until lunch!

Soon its school time!! So i better get ready - i have a habit of spending too long eating breakfast, haha :)

  1. Glad you had a great run! What is BCAA? I rarely ever listen to music while running-it's my "quiet" time to think, overthink!, listen to nature, compose notes/conversations, meal plan, etc. And, to add to the pleasure, I don't track distance/pace but by now I know how far my routes are but I don't track my pace. Running is just so fun! Have a great day.

    1. I think running without any apps and music can be very refreshing :) BCAA is branched chain amino acids... so a type of protein that can keep your muscles from breaking down. So i usually drink it when i do cardio :)

  2. I don't know if you made the rice pudding look like just rice on purpose or not, so disregard my comment if you did xD Anyway to avoid it coming out like this again you should add some corn starch (or any starch I guess? I've only ever tried corn.) when you add milk to the rice ^^

  3. I usually run with music but what often happens is my phone dies or music stops playing for some reason for towards the end of the run I don't have music (most times). I think its good to try to run without music and really focus on the movement of your body and if you run outside on your surroundings, the sounds etc. And thats so funny how you multi task when running and think of all these different things :) It saves a lot of time!
