Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

My life at the moment is completely different to how it once was. I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia and depression as well as struggling with self harm and overexercising. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
And since 2012 i have been declared healthy from my eating disorder.

I have been blogging for 7 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I now blog about recovery, my life, veganism and positivity!

If you have any questions leave them in the comment section as i am much quicker at answering there, otherwise you can always send an email: lifewithoutanorexia@hotmail.com

10 000 kcal challenge

So i came across this video this evening:

I didnt even know such a challenge existed... at first i thought it would be kind of fun to do... both for myself, but even to my readers... to show that one day i would eat 10 000 kcal (or something ) and show you all that nothing bad happens. That even if i were to gain weight its not the end of the world.
But seeing the video and seeing how she literally has to force the food into her at the end, makes me a little less keen of the challenge. Because having to force food into me... that just reminds me of my time at Mando. Maybe not the most fun thing to do...
But then again, i know that i have a LARGE stomach and LARGE apetite, so if i were to eat lots of nuts (i can easily eat 100-200g within a day), lots of raisins, avocado, chocolate etc im sure i could reach the 10 000, but then again 10 000 is ALOT of food, i mean its the equivalent of around 18-20 100g bars i.e almost 2kg chocolate..... or 2kg nuts?
My stomach says i can do it, but my mind knows that my stomach is lying.. hahahah

But who knows, maybe on my birthday?I mean im going to a buffet and going to eat cake etc...

But i think watching the video and realising that eating alot of calories isnt something bad... eating 10 000kcal is a bit excessive, but i mean eating say 4000 kcal, if you try... it wouldnt be that hard to eat it. Something which i thought about was her sister, how she also ate waffles, burritos, pizza etc and she was just eating normally (im guessing?)

Another thing i thought about while watching the video was how for those who struggling with binge eating and eating say 3000-5000kcal in one go during a binge... showing how that isnt normal or healty. For most people, just one day of eating so much junk food or so much food made her feel tired and she just looked exhausted of food etc...
Basically what im trying to get to is that eating such huge amounts at one time isnt healthy and for people who binge - maybe this is a realisation for you - though i know its a mental illness and the binging happens for a reason. The food and eating large amounts is a consequence of something else.

Anyway Let me know what you think about the challenge! And would you like to see me do it? (Im not making any promises here, im just interested to know! hahaha)

  1. I saw this video a few days ago, and I also thought to give this challenge a try, but after the donut I have changed my mind...how she has forced her body to this extreme has scared me a bit. I think that I would never be able to do this to my body...but as you has said, maybe try to do a day : eat as many goodness as I can ! IIFYM IF IT FITS YOUR MOUTH

    1. Hahah yeah i felt the same after i saw how at the end eating so many calories wasnt as easy as you might think.... but im pretty sure i could easily eat around 7000kcal in aday.... Though im not someone who counts calories or cares about calories, and i dont think i would want to count or force myself to eat so much even if i didnt want to.

  2. If you feel like you can do it, and know by 100% that it isn't going to trigger something inside of you, i totally think you should do it, and as well make a video! - and ofcourse tell what happens afterwards :)

    1. Well... why does anyone do anythign to themselves? I do think this is a bit extreme, but i mean its a challenge,.... its like when i did the 1000reps challenge for my leg workout... that can seem a bit extreme, but i lke challenges :)
Though its like the ice and salt challenge... its kind of stupid and has no reason behind it, but people seem to like challenges :)

  6. I dont think you should do it.. it does not prove anything, it is just very sick behavior and i dont see why anybody should do this to themselves.

    1. Like i wrote in the comment above, why does anyone do anythign to themselves? But this is a challenge, like any challenge really... i mean there are all you can eat challenges and other food related challenges-
I am like 95% no on this, as i wouldnt want to feel like i am forcing myself to eat food if i dont want... but a 5% says it might be fun to do :)

    2. It is definitely not like any challenge. Challenges should be fun. For example should it be fun to do challenge like how long could one be without eating or how much alcohol could one consume without dying?

  7. Actually I would like to try something myself. Like as a challenge, but I think that like 10000 is really extreme! I have decided though that on my birthday I'll let myself go or atleast try to just eat whatever I want! So maybe that day is a good one for the challenge XD anyway I would maybe even join you!

    1. Hahah birthdays are ALWAYS all you can eat days... as well as christmas, easter, etc :) but like you wrote, 10 000 is a bit extreme. Enjoy yourself on your birthday :) Eat as much cake/food/chocolate etc that you want :)

  9. I know this is an old post but I want to give my opion . I dont think this challenge is a good idea because when recovering from an eating disorder you have to learn to eat normally again. you have to learn really how to eat intuativly i.e eat when hungry , stop when full. Yes I think it should be highlighted that the body can handle more calories some days but 10 000 is too extreme and it is highly unlikly that is healthy for any one except maybe some one who is exercise constantly in an extreme phiscialcly demanding way.

  10. Don't do that because it would be horrible to do that much but if you did 5000 cals that would be good. More manageable but same proof x
