Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

My life at the moment is completely different to how it once was. I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia and depression as well as struggling with self harm and overexercising. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
And since 2012 i have been declared healthy from my eating disorder.

I have been blogging for 7 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I now blog about recovery, my life, veganism and positivity!

Find balance and mindfulness in your own life

Stress.

Something which affects us all one way or another. There is the stress of school or work. Stress of time planning, trying to fit everything into our hectic lives. Some people add even more stress to their lives with a mental stress, telling themselves they arent good enough, cant do something, dont have enough time. They panic instead of being productive. Others dont feel stressed about things until the last moment and others just shut down or refuse to feel stress... live life and not care about things.
Neither of those methods are good.

We all have to find our way to cope with stress.

Writing, dancing, singing, talking, yoga, meditiation, running, walking, working out, laughing, drawing... all really good methods of coping with stress. Finding your method to find peace in your life.
Mindfulness and meditation is something which can also be a huge benefit to many people. You may know that for my project this year i am writing about yoga and how it helps with stress and concentrattion among other things. And studies have shown that doing meditation helps decrease stress and helps improve concentration.
Meditation and yoga helps to fight depression and anxiety.... just 20 minutes a day can make a significant improvement in your health, energy and mood.

Im sure working out or walking or running or other methods are just as good, but when it comes to meditation, then you learn to let go of your worries. Focus on something else... or more, not focus on anything. You stop your thoughts from taking over, stop your thoughts from racing.
If you have ADHD, or ADD then yoga or meditation can be highly recommended :)

With stress there is also the unconscious stress which we feel everyday... The unconscious stress of time management and planning. Feeling like you arent good enough or dont have time... but you need to change those thoughts. Realise that you DO have time, sometimes you need to reorganize and make changes in your life so that you do have time.
But also stop telling yourself that you arent good enough, that you cant do something... negative thoughts = negative results = negative mindset. So focus on positive... tell yourself that you CAN.

And now on to the negative stress of social media.... we may not want to admit it, but social media adds ALOT of stress to our lives. It can give us anxiety, make us feel bad about ourselves and our lives. Or make us feel like we arent good enough or we need to change our bodies.

Im sure we all have those accounts which we follow which secretly we hate but we feel we just cant unfollow them. You want to know what the person posts next, but each time they do it just annoys you... its like with ex girl/boyfriend... You want to know what they are doing.
I have some accounts which i follow and their behaviour and what they say/write just annoys me... because i just want to comment and say nonononon..... you think you are healthy but you are the opposite of  healthy. But i dont, because i know it wouldnt result in anything.
I want to know their update, but it still annoys me and can even stress me out...

Those people that exercise 2-3 times a day, or post their super healthy meals etc it can unconsciously make you feel bad about yourself... like you arent enough.
Or those people who post all the good parts of their lives and you are left thinking, why dont i go out and party, or why dont i have that many friends or my life is so boring... But you dont see the persons hangover or the days they feel super lonely or the days they do nothing.

Dont compare your everyday to peoples highlights.

Get rid of those triggering or annoying people/accounts who just add stress to your life... you dont need them. You  need to find your inner peace and balance. A mindfulness, you shouldnt feel bad about yourself or have people make you feel bad about your appearance or your life. (as long as its a healthy one!)
Focus on positivity and balance. Not on negativity and comparison and stress.

Find your way of dealing with stress and get rid of the unconscious stress factors in your life!!
