Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

My life at the moment is completely different to how it once was. I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia and depression as well as struggling with self harm and overexercising. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
And since 2012 i have been declared healthy from my eating disorder.

I have been blogging for 7 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I now blog about recovery, my life, veganism and positivity!

If you have any questions leave them in the comment section as i am much quicker at answering there, otherwise you can always send an email: lifewithoutanorexia@hotmail.com

Bundle of thoughts

You know when you have a big knot of earphones all tangeled together, and you try to pull one of the earphones out but it just doesnt work because they are so tangled together?
Yeah, thats how my thoughts are at the moment.. everything bundled together. I have so many thoughts at once.... I feel like i hav 100 things i want to do.
So many posts i want to write about but once i try pulling at one thread and idea i get 5 other ones as well and suddenly i am writing 5 posts and 3 essays at the same time, never really finishing any of them.

I think im just going to write out all my ideas on a piece of paper and slowly start writing all the posts... trying to formulate my ideas and thoughts into words and sentences :)

And once again, if you have any topic ideas or questions let me know and i can answer them in a post :)
(And also know that at the moment emailing isnt going so well, so if you have any questions you can just comment them here as i might be more likely to answer them in a comment or post here :)) For now anyway :)

Also...If YOU have any advice or your own story which you want to share then please email me (and in the subject let me know that you have advice/a story you want to share), as im sure it would help and motivate others :)

  1. I know what you mean. Sometimes when I have too many thoughts I try to write them out. But once I start writing about one I forget two since there are so many. Very frustrating... But making a short list of what you want to write about can help. Maybe I should try that :)
Heres something I would love to read. I think some of your readers would like this too.
I noticed you get a lot of questions about how you make your food, like food that you eat pretty often. So instead of answering nearly each comment, why not put it all in one post and refer people to it. It would be much easier I think. I know you made a post on how to make your favorite breakfasts but this is not just breakfasts.
Some of those foods I personally already know how you make but maybe others don't and are interested. so here it is:
    Your egg white oatmeal
    Your microwave bread
    Your pancakes
    Your trail mix!
    Sweet egg cake
The spread you put on bread
And here are some questions :)
    Creamy or crunchy pb?
Do you give Daisy any treats?
3 of your least favorite foods
3 foods you can eat every day
Do you like pistachios, snickers, m&m's, hummus?
    Do you drink hot chocolate?
Your break starts in two weeks, right?
    What jam do you eat?
    Do you like candy canes?
Remember, you don't have to do these if you don't want to :)
If anyone wants to add anything go ahead and do so :)

    1. :)what is your favourite sweet/savoury treat izzy? :)
this is probably a very silly subject for a blog post - so please only write on it if you want to theres absolutely no pressure :) can you give me any advicd on oping in recovery, when you are alone and have noone to look out for you. at the moment i am on my own at home and am feeling lonely and stressed, and food seems to have lost all of its appeal, since im eating on my own. i know i need to be able to feel comfortable eating alone, and that i need to be able to eat normally and well without having my loved ones there looking over my shoulder encouraging me to eat. i am just finding it hard as i dont feel great at the moment and eating has been made a bit diffiult again.

    2. Hi there :)
I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I know how hard it can be. Nobodies nagging you or reminding you to eat. And you know if you skip a meal no one will have to know. I had a period like that...
But is not eating or eating less really gonna get you somewhere? Will it help you? Is this what you really want and need? Not eating will only slow down the recovery process. But eating will make you stronger! Little steps in the right direction will help!
I think talking to someone can really help! It's good you reached out :) Maybe phone a family member or one of your friends and just talk. It doesn't even have to be about ED or food. Just talking about random stuff or how your day went can make a big difference on your mood.
Sometimes keeping busy helps. Watch a movie (with snacks of course, ahaha! If you'd like), read a fascinating book, make plans with a friend, go see a movie, go to a cafe where there are people etc. You are not alone! I believe in you!! Really.
But don't get too busy you forget/don't have time to eat. Food is important.
Maybe making something extra delicious will help. Look up a recipe and try it out. Get the foods you know you love and eat them!
I hope these suggestions help in some way. If you need more advice or just want to talk please, don't be shy!! I will listen and try to help! I know I don't know you but I really hope you stay in recovery and keep eating. If you want I can give you my email, just say the word :) :)
