Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

My life at the moment is completely different to how it once was. I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia and depression as well as struggling with self harm and overexercising. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
And since 2012 i have been declared healthy from my eating disorder.

I have been blogging for 7 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I now blog about recovery, my life, veganism and positivity!

Brinner!!

Breakfast foods are a favourite of mine!!! And yes, i could eat it 5-6 times a day :) :) Im pretty sure i have infact done that... eaten oats/quark/yoghurt/pancakes 6 times in one day!

This evening i had planned on eating chicken and noodles or something similiar for dinner... but when it came to dinner time all i was craving was vanilla yoghurt, quark and granola... just the thought of chicken made my stomach churn. I have had incredible stomach pain all afternoon so i wanted something more easily digested and yoghurt and granola is the perfect thing then!

When i got back from the shop i threw together some ingredients (oats, milk, eggs, baking powder, psyllium seeds & coconut oil) and made pancakes.

For dinner (and night snack... combined) i ate quark & vanilla yoghurt with granola, oatpancakes,  popcorn chocolate (this one was delicious, it was my first time trying it) and a rawbar :) 10/10 :)

And i know someone asked me if i eat breakfast for dinner some days (i couldnt find your comment... so ill answer here?), and yes when im too tired or amnt craving normal dinner food. Then i eat brinner :) And this is an example of how it looks :) When i eat brinner i often make one big meal as i eat both dinner and night snack in one :)

Do you like Brinner (i.e breakfast for dinner?) :)

    1. You CAN eat more and different. You just have to try it. Change your routines... go to the shop, buy the things you like and want to eat and then for 1 meal/snack a day change your normal snack/meal to the other thing :) Don't get stuck eating the same thing!

  2. Probably an incredibly random and boring question to answer, but do you think in Swedish or English? And when switching from one to the other, do you have to translate in your head first or does it just come naturally? Sorry for the random question!!

    3. Hahah don't worry, i don't mind you asking :)
It's really hard to answer but 80% of the time I think in swedish but then when I'm doing school work/ on my blog etc I think in English. But most of the time it's alot of swenglish! In fact sometimes I can find myself just wanting to laugh because in the middle of a thought i just change language because it's easier to express myself or find the right word :)
I can even change language in the middle of a sentence when talking.... This happens alot with my friends because we all can both English and swedish :)

  3. Definitely a 10/10!! Before I didn't really think of having breakfast for diner (before maybe have cereal sometimes but not because I wanted to but because there was nothing else) When I saw that you had brinner some days I thought 'well why not?' It makes me think, we have certain ways we do things. For example, yesterday my dad took a bite of a bell pepper without even cutting it (like eating an apple). I never even thought of eating it like that! Sure, some norms are norms because they're easier but then we lose creativity, we don't use our imagination. We are so used to doing certain things a certain way. I'm not saying it's all bad but doing something differently can lead to discovering new ways/possibilities. Maybe that's just me, I'm not sure if this is understandable or if I'm just being weird ;)
So to answer your question, yes, I love brinner! Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. Everything about it is great (in my opinion) but not too often. I'd hate to get sock of breakfast food, though not so sure it's possible for me to get sick of breakfast, ahaha!
I had chocolate with popcorn once before and I lived it! So yummy!

    1. I do that with peppers as well :) hahah. I love it, it's so crunchy!
And I understand what you mean... somethings are just routine and so ingrained in us that we just do it automatically. But actually it's ok with change :)
Yeah I guess that's the problem if you overeat something because you like it so much and then end up getting bored of it!

  4. izzy, i am so with you on this - I LOVE breakfast foods (cereal, toast, porridge etc), and I would happily eat them during the day for lunch and dinner!! do you think it is ok to sometimes replace lunch as specified on your meal plan (like usually for me, lunch is some sort of bread and a some form of protein filling, etc) with something you'd usually have for breakfast? Like...would you be getting enough protein, calcium etc..? Or do you think for now it is best to keep these sort of things for snacks and for breakfast.xxx

    1. For now i would keep them as snacks. But later on when you aren't following a meal plan or need to gain weight then you can do that type of thing when you feel like it :)
