Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

My life at the moment is completely different to how it once was. I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia and depression as well as struggling with self harm and overexercising. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
And since 2012 i have been declared healthy from my eating disorder.

I have been blogging for 7 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I now blog about recovery, my life, veganism and positivity!

From C blog to A blog!

Something which you will find alot of on my blog is Smileys, 'hahas' and .......Grammar mistakes :) I am aware of all 3 of these things.
During summer i told myself that i should stop using so many smileys and haha... but it didn't last long. It felt unnatural, for me... just reading blog posts with no emotion in them, where it's just words. It doesn't appeal to me at all. My way of getting my emotion across through my blog post, so that it's not just words on a screen is by putting different smileys and things :)
Though if i must admit, it's almost affecting my essays a little, haha. I've found that at times i just want to throw in a smiley to make it less formal or put in a haha in an email to a teacher? So maybe that's not a good thing, but otherwise my essays are actually really good. A/B standard, even if it may not seem so on my blog due to all the errors. Though that's just because i write my blog posts so quickly. Either at 6.30am or 9pm, or on the bus on my way home from  school and i use my mobile  which always results in grammar mistakes. At times you can't even understand what it was i wrote as there was so much auto correct! haha

I got a comment mentioning that maybe thinking more about how i write would be a good thing. You are absaloutly right!! I might not change my smileys, so if they bother you, I'm sorry. But when i can, i will think more about my spelling. Though i'm sure a few spelling mistakes will still be made as well as some random letter slipping into a word or replacing another letter ;) But just take that with a little pinch of salt, see it as a charm of mine.

Its like baked goods, sure you can buy the mixture where you just add egg and water and the brownies turn out great. Or you could make your own brownies from scratch and even if they don't turn out great, there is motivation and love behind the brownies :)

  1. I didn't expect my little comment would make you write a post, Izzy! Hope you are not upset about it :-) Just to clarify, I DO like you using smiley faces, they make you blog so friendly, so real, so 'Izzy'! I just thought if you could avoid grammatical mistakes, it would be beneficial for your English writing ;-)

    1. First i got a little offended, but that was just sill and once i thought about it i it will be a good thing. I mean in my essays my grammar is fine, but i think it will just be good overall to try to avoid spelling mistakes etc as much as possible anyway :)
But i was planning on writing a post about the smileys and haha's anyway :) So don't worry about that!

I think its gerat with constructive critisizm, anything that helps me improve and the quality of my blog. So if you have any more tips or suggestions just comment :)

  3. Oh Izzy please please keep on using your smileys, they really DO make your blog so personal and special :) your blog is so unique and individual and i think it is only right that you write it in your own special way. I think the smileys really do add a personal special touch to everything you write...they always make me smile...reading your blog isn't just reading words on a screen, it's like hearing a caring and reassuring voice speak...a voice that is matched with lots of little smiles that reminds me that everything will work out ok:) as for the grammatical errors, I think that is up to you, but I think it is important to remember that if you are writing your blog for enjoyment, it might be nice for you to not have to worry about spelling etc for once. Love your blog Izzy (keep on smiley-ing ;) ) x

  4. Smiley faces are the best! They're how a person conveys emotion! Haha xD Everyone makes mistakes on their blogs - no matter who they are. I have seen the "big bloggers" make simple errors and I have caught errors on my own blog. It happens. No one is perfect, and a blog should be a reflection of our perfectly imperfect selves :D

I mean, hey, I'm still following your blog after three or more years so that has to mean something, right? Haha. Seriously so proud of how far you have come with everything! Love you petal <3
