Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

My life at the moment is completely different to how it once was. I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia and depression as well as struggling with self harm and overexercising. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
And since 2012 i have been declared healthy from my eating disorder.

I have been blogging for 7 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I now blog about recovery, my life, veganism and positivity!

If you have any questions leave them in the comment section as i am much quicker at answering there, otherwise you can always send an email: lifewithoutanorexia@hotmail.com

Food is not the enemy

Food is not the enemy, your mind and thoughts are your enemy!!!

Today the only physical exercise i have done is 5 minutes to the library and 5 minutes back in turtle speed. But that doesnt make me eat less than normal... Nope i keep eating exactly what my body needs!
As i mentioned in one of my previous posts i did actually go to the library and there i sat for 3,5 hours where i brought lunch and snacks with me... but well, studying just makes me super hungry and tired. So after 3,5 hours i was feeling super hungry, craving coffee and just didnt want to type anymore. So i packed my things and went home.
I then ate some quark with nuts and dried fruit  as well as 2 more cookies :) :)

Did some series watching before my family came home and spent a while talking with them. They made an early dinner and i wasnt hungry right then so i waited a while.... but my hunger wasnt really coming (had a stomach ache) and i wasnt craving dinner food. So instead i decided to make some pancakes and eat those with a fruit salad, 1,5 portion casein & some protein bites!!!
A perfect dinner and night snack combined!
My tastebuds were in heaven :)

^^Yup, even if i wasnt feeling super hungry i ate ALL of this ^^
Need all my energy :)

Now its time for rest and to pack my bag for tomorrow... a long day in school!

Remember your body NEEDS food. Look at all the delicious food i eat, dont you want to feed and nourish your body as well? Give it the energy it needs :)

    1. Yes. Of course! You need nutrition and even if you aren't hungry your body still needs food. You can always wait a while to eat or like Izzy, eat something that you know you can eat any time... hungry or not. If you have eaten so much all day and you really are not hungry, I suggest you wait a while and then maybe just have a big snack later. Don't worry so much though. Eat when you are hungry and stop when you are full... unless you really know you do need more food... then EAT!!!

    2. Yes you still need to eat even if you arent hungry :) I have days where i amnt super hungry but i know i still need to eat every 2-4 hours, as it keeps my energy stable and thats what my body needs. If im not hugnry i often eat plenty of nuts, chocolate, oats etc things that are easy to eat :)

  3. Thank you, I needed this today. I am injured and was crying over not being able to exercise. I am still stressed over how much I have eaten :(

I wish I could be better.

    2. Thankyou so much for your response. Sometimes I feel so alone with my thoughts and people get so angry with me when I say anything. It helps to have people should understand speak to me!

    6. Trust me, recovery is worth it. Think like this... now that you are injured and cant exercise, its a good chance for you to face your fears. You WONT become fat just because you rest.. whether its a week, a month, 3 months. Think, some people injure themselves so badly they cant do exercise for months or years, or not at all. Or if you have an operation on your legs or stomach/back then you often cant exercise. and its NOT the end of the world... there are other things to do in life than just exercise.,
But also, if you freak out and panic because you cant exercise for a while, and you are worried about getting fat, then your relationship to exercise isnt healthy. And i think its good that you are now forced to rest.
DONT exercise, if you are told not to. Find a way to cope with the ED thoughts, fight your fears!! There is no other way, recovery is worth it!

  4. Your food looks soo good! I like having all kinds of different flavors in my meal. I just had Thai food and it was delicious. I went with my dad and sister and we all ordered different things but shared. So I got to try three new things! I had chicken with eggplant and a little of beef and broccoli and ginger chicken. Mine was really spicy so had to drink lots and lots of water. Oh and the iced tea was good too, a little too sweet but still good :) Hope you've had a lovely day! :)

    1. Sounds lovely :) I always do that with my family as well... we all try each others dishes, however if i choose chicken then its just for me, but i get to try theres.... :) its like an unspoken rule in our family, if we go out to eat you get to test a small bit of the other persons food :)
Ive never actually tried ice tea.. would you reccommend it? :)

    2. It's the same in our family! I grew up in a big family so I'm used to sharing things :)
I like both hot and iced tea, so yes, I would definitely recommend it! And it's good when you want tea but not something hot. Oh and Thai tea is especially good :)

    1. Oats (Usually i turn into oatflour, but our mixer wasnt working), eggs, egg whites, milk, baking powder, vanilla essence.... just mix everything together so there is just a little more liquid than dry ingredients (oats) and then fry thinly!!

    2. Thank you, so it's basicly like a portion of oatmeal?

  8. I love what you have to say on your blog. :) I feel like I can really relate to you in more ways than one (except I'm vegan... so we don't really have that in common... even though I WILL splurge sometimes and eat half-baked Ben and Jerry's or a questbar if my body wants it! :D ).
You're awesome, and I'm never going to stop not loving your blog! :D Infact, you've inspired me to start up a Tumblr blog! When I get it rolling and accumilate some posts, I'd love for you to follow me. I'm aiming for it to be a fitness/help those to recover from ED/journal/food tumblr. :)

    <3 <3 <3 Hugs to you and Daisy. ;)
