Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

I am a generally happy girl who loves running, going to the gym and eating food!! Though my life has been very different.
I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia & purging tendencies & over exercising. I was depressed and self harmed. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
After alot of struggles, lots of ups and downs, suicide attempts, tears, anxiety, panic and never thinking i would be healthy.
I am now declared healthy from anorexia nervosia.

I have been blogging for 4 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I am happy and healthy and living my life. Going to school, meeting friends and trying to find myself in this world.

I write about my daily life, but also try to write posts about how it was when i was sick, advice and tips.
I am open and friendly, so dont be scared about writing a post or sending me an email at:

Things i like to do when im feeling sad

We all have times where life gets us down and all we want to do is cry or just go hide under the covers. Sometimes thats ok... to just hide away for a few hours or to just sit and cry. There is nothing wrong with that... life is tough.

However, here are some of the things i like to do when im feeling sad whether its about school, stress, anxiety, my body etc

Take a shower, wash my hair, put on a face mask etc and just take care of my body. Its not always that when im feeling sad that i have the motivation to do those things because i just think 'who cares'. But when i do have a spa evening, it can make me feel better. Because i feel more fresh.

Start watching a new/or an old really good series or a film.

Go for a walk or a run or to the gym.

Cuddle with Daisy.

Make pancakes - the actual making of pancakes doesnt make me feel better, but the eating of the pancakes does ;)

Buying something ive wanted for a while - im the type of person who doesnt just buy things spontaneously, i think about the things i want to buy for like 3 weeks before i buy them ^_^ So then sometimes when im feeling down ill treat myself to that thing i wanted... for example, when i was feeling really down and life was weighing me down a feew weeks ago i decided to order myself some questbars and they arrived jsut in time - when i couldnt walk because of my ankle and that made me feel alot better!

Chocolate covered nuts & Pepsi Max!! (Can you tell that the way to make me feel better is often yummy food ;))

Watching funny videos or gifs!!! They can always make me laugh and feel a little betetr for a while anyway!

  1. Haha I'm the same. I usually look at things online and decide that I really want/need something and only buy it a month later. But that way I have time to think if I really need that particular product. But of course I don't always plan shopping.
Ya, watching funny gifs/videos can help. I especially like the last one haha!

  2. When I get stressy/frustrated/sad I go and organise a kitchen cupboard or drawer or the fridge or something like that, it just clears my head, helps me relax, not to mention makes my house super ordered and organised!

    1. Hahah, 2 positives in one :) I used to do that before as well, cleaning is a good way to distract yourself!

  3. Thanks for this post! Feel like I really need this today as I'm noticing I'm quite down and then want to do things to make myself feel better but I'm not sure what. Also feel kind of guilty if I let myself eat like chocolate or something I like just because I feel sad. I'm kind of scared I'll start doing it every time I feel sad and become an emotional eater or impulsive in buying things :(

    1. Maybe you can do some other things then to make yourself feel better, instead of buying something or eating something yummy... you dont have to become an emotional eater or impulsive buyer, its only if that is the only thing that makes you feel better. But doing those things sometimes when you feel down can help. But of course there are many things you can do to make yourself feel better!
