Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

My life at the moment is completely different to how it once was. I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia and depression as well as struggling with self harm and overexercising. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
And since 2012 i have been declared healthy from my eating disorder.

I have been blogging for 7 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I now blog about recovery, my life, veganism and positivity!

If you have any questions leave them in the comment section as i am much quicker at answering there, otherwise you can always send an email:

My dinner tonight was absaloutly delicious, my home made cottage cheese, olive and paprika fish burgers with vegetables & creme fraiche mixed with tomatue sauce (not ketchup!) & sunflowers.
And yes, i know its a very small dinner. But i had infact had a pre dinner snack & 2 crisp bread & 2 small fish cakes while i was making my dinner ;)

  1. Hello Izzy - Just wondering, have you ever thought about your carbohydrates intake? seems like you are not eating much carbs, is that recommended by Mando? Thank you!
P.S. This is not an offensive post - just want to know more about nutrition!

  2. It might seem like i dont eat alot of carbs but i do -> oatmeal, sweet potatoe, berries, quinoa, beans, crisp bread, home made bread etc etc
I dont eat potatoes and not such a big fan of pasta, but i do eat rice, bulgur, couscous etc :)
Remember that i dont post everything i eat, i rarely post my lunches or dinners which often contain most of my carb intake!

Well i just eat according to my hunger and cravings, Mando has no say about it? hahah
But while i was at mando i ate carbs to both lunch and dinner, and then sometimes i had crisp bread for snacks, but it was often alot of yoghurt with cereal etc ;)

    1. And also lots of fruit and dried fruit :)

  3. hi izzy, i was just wondering if you could review my meal plan; does this seem like enough to maintain on? im 5'9 and 49.9kg, trying to at least maintain as i've been recently losing (by accident) and am really trying to stop counting calories; this was today's intake

crunchy bran cereal with alpro coconut milk + a glass of orange juice

snack: an apple, a little box of raisins

lunch: a salad + quorn sandwich, carrot and celery sticks

snack: 2 lotus caramelised biscuits, a few yogurt coated raisins

dinner: 1/2 a goats cheese and caramelised onion pizza. 2 dough balls, lots of salad with balsamic dressing

    snack: some b&j's!!!

all of this was unmeasured (its been very difficult, despite me telling myself it was going to be easy), i was also wondering if you could write a post about stopping counting calories, going food shopping etc, whether it was something that happened gradually or if one day you just went cold turkey on it and it stopped happening etc?

  4. You really aren't eating alot. It might feel like you are, but you aren't. You are still very underweight and should be eating around 2500+ calories a day. You can add more to ALL your meals. Add fruit, carbs to your lunch, bread to snacks or your breakfast, nuts and seeds etc etc.
It'd hard to gain weight i know that. But if you are losing weight then you aren't even eating enough t maintain. Remember this. Eat More!! Your body needs it.

and I'll try write about those things :)
