Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

My life at the moment is completely different to how it once was. I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia and depression as well as struggling with self harm and overexercising. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
And since 2012 i have been declared healthy from my eating disorder.

I have been blogging for 7 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I now blog about recovery, my life, veganism and positivity!

When did you learn to speak Swedish? (:
Swedish was my first language as we moved to Sweden from when i was 6 months old an lived there until i was 4 and half. So when we moved to Ireland, and i started school there, i couldnt speak english, though i could understand it.
I could speak english, but not write it, and wasnt so good at reading. But we spoke swedish with our mum and we learnt how to write and read in Swedish as we grew up.

Do you find it easy to make friends in Sweden?
As the kids in your class are 2 years younger than you, right?
The first school i went to, was very little so i made friends. But it was more 'im friends with you in school because i have no other choice' but we didnt meet outside of school. And i have no contact with any of them anymore.
But when i changed school, to the one i go to now. I made friends easy, but it did take some time until i found the group i fitted with (first i was just friends with everyone, as ive always been). The good thing though was that everyone was new to the school, so i dint just jump into a new class.... everyone came from another school.
Yeah 1-2 years younger. I just explained that because i moved from Ireland it became weird with the school situation, and there werent so many more questions asked :)

What do you miss most of from ireland? (your dad, guess, and your best friend?)
Yeah, thats pretty much it. My family andn my best friend., I mean sometimes i can get nostalgia, and miss how things were in Ireland. But not so often.

Was it clear to your mom that leaving ireland would be for ever?
Im not so sure, but i think so.

Didn`t she have a partner over there? Where did she met her new husband?
No she met her new husband when we had moved here, c.a a year later. She met him via online dating :) And i think its really cute, because they are still super duper in love :)

On what did both of you live in Sweden, did your mom get a job soon?
When we first moved to Sweden my mum couldnt really work as she had to take care of me... she was so worried for my health. Also she had so many things to take care of. My sister moved to sweden a month after us, and my mum had to fix that she got into school, also with housing (we - or my mum and sister, as i was in Mando 90% of the time) moved alot. Our things were spread out everywhere, in friends and families houses, and it took about a year until things were settled. My mum is a yoga teacher and has always had her own business and she had also started her own spa and yoga business in Ireland (she is also a masseuse), where she was earning quite a bit. So at times i can feel really bad that she had to give all of that up, and start a new.
It took a long time until she began doing yoga again, as she had to advertise, find a place to hold yoga classes and all these other things. But now she has got another business up and running and doing well :) Also writing a book, and there might be in a TV program aswell!!  (My mum really inspires me in that way, as she can go from nothing... i.e mean there was a period here in Sweden when we didnt have enough money for food... and still she stays strong and builds her way up again!)

What about your brothers and sisters, how many do you have and why don`t all of them live in Sweden?
My family is huge and spread everywhere... its a complicated situation. But i guess my closest family is my older sister (who lives here in sweden), my mum, my dad (in ireland) and my half brother also in Ireland... and a sort of step mum, and step sister... but not really. (its all so complicated at this stage)

What languages do you learn in Sweden?
You can choose any language, im doing French (or will be next year, i chose not to do it this year). (and then of course you have to do swedish and english!)

Can you go to university after your final exams?
Yes... though im not sure if im going to study in Sweden or somewhere else ;)

Why did you choose to write your blog in English not in swedish?
Because im better at English than swedish. But also because i was living in Ireland (back in 2009) when i began writing my blog. And it was just a sort of online diary. I didnt think id keep blogging, or even have so many readers.
