Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

My life at the moment is completely different to how it once was. I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia and depression as well as struggling with self harm and overexercising. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
And since 2012 i have been declared healthy from my eating disorder.

I have been blogging for 7 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I now blog about recovery, my life, veganism and positivity!

Anorexia isnt a choice, but Recovery is

No one can force you to live a certain way. Its your choice how you want to live your life.
But its a pretty messed up life if you chose to live it being sick.

You dont chose anorexia, but you  do chose recovery.Tumblr_lyfnlrfmui1r80frko1_500_large

  1. Do you really think anorexia isn't a choice? I understand that some people aren't in control of it. I feel like I chose it
In the beginning, and continue to choose it each day. Maybe as a punishment or as a self blaming mechanism? Just a thought and not to angry anyone......let me know if you have questions!!

    1. Dont worry you can state your opinion, i mean everyone thinks different!! There are pro anorexics, the ones who choose anorexia... or more, choose weightloss and being super skinny. But when you are truly sick, and its no longer just weightloss and starvation but when your mind/ED pushes you to go out running 2 hours when you wake up and you really really dont want to. And when you have to lock yourself away or self harm to keep yourself from eating... Then i dont think you are choosing your eating disorder. Then your ED controls you.... Of course, if you are in recovery and purposely doing everything wrong, then you are basically choosing your ED but at the same time, its that voice in your head that is making you do all these things, even if yo umight not want to..

  2. I guess I'm just saying I take full responsibility for my actions:) no one is telling me to do this and everyone is telling me not to. I am working on recovery, I just feel like blaming myself is easier on everyone else. So therefore I am choosing my actions? Does that make sense a little?

ps.. I was at a IKea today and I thought about you - hope you are well and taking time for yourself!!<3 nik

    1. In a way, everyone who is sick chooses their actions... but at the same time not? Though i mean you cant be working towards recovery if everyday you choose to not eat... because you cant both recover and try to lose weight/starve yourself.
Its hard to recover, but you need to stop blaming yourself, and try to go against the voice in your head.If you choose your ED, things arent going to get better, they will just get worse. No one can force you recover, that is something you have to chose for yourself.

Hahah, i love Ikea ;) At the moment its hard to have time for myself, but in a few weeks i will have more Easter break, so until then its just to work hard!
