Life without Anorexia

My motto is
'Dont let the sadness of your past & the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present'

My life at the moment is completely different to how it once was. I spent 5 years sick with anorexia nervosia and depression as well as struggling with self harm and overexercising. I spent 2 years in different treatment centres.
And since 2012 i have been declared healthy from my eating disorder.

I have been blogging for 7 years, and my whole journey is written in my posts. I now represent healthy and happiness. I want to show anyone struggling that it is possible to recover, no matter how hard it may seem.

I now blog about recovery, my life, veganism and positivity!

If you have any questions leave them in the comment section as i am much quicker at answering there, otherwise you can always send an email: lifewithoutanorexia@hotmail.com

Being Happy doesnt mean that everything is perfect, it means that you have decided to look beyond the imperfections.

That quote is so accurate!!! :)

Today is Wednesday the 13th!!
And tomorrow is Thurdays the 14th - Valentines day.
Or as i like to call it ' Single awareness day!' hahaha XD
Or... forever alone day.

Anyway... my day.... well, what can i say?
I walked to school to school this morning, as it wasnt snowing and it was actually plus degrees (i think?)... (it takes half an hour to walk!! )
I learned how to tackle people in P.E today!! haha XD
I ate a horrible lunch today...
I almost fell asleep in leadership class.
I spent my free period playing in the snow with my friends!! (Sounds very babyish! But it was fun!! - SNOWBALL FIGHT!)

And then ive come home.... and pretty much eaten the contents of the cabinets....

And... My awful fat feelings from yesterday, have not dissappeared yet.. :/ Usch. Feeling awful in my body. Feel like just hiding away... nto showing myself. :/ usch.

  1. Hey Izzy, I'm Ruby
I started following your blog recently
I read your story and I noticed that you grew up in Ireland
    I also live in Ireland
I can relate to your story a lot
I am also trying to recover from anorexia/bulimia and also drug addiction
I think you're doing an amazing job with your recovery
You seem to have an inner strength and a good insight in to your illness
And that's always a valuable asset
It's great to see such a positive blog as there is so much negativity on the net

Anyway, just wanted to show some love to a fellow eating disorder survivor
    And we are survivors
We are fighting a battle everyday
It's a fight for our lives
As a good friend once said to me 'It's not a choice between anorexia and recovery, it's a choice between life and death'
    I choose life
I'm so glad you have too

    Lots of love x

  2. Hi Izzy! I hope you don't feel fat today--because it's not true!! You're amazing, you're active, you have a wonderful body...personally I think you have a really adorable nose=-D Aw, your snowman is so cute!! Enjoy the snow!
I had a friend who hated Valentine's Day, so she wore black and pouted about nobody loving her. But hey, you're way more attractive also when you choose to be joyful and love others...so bake some cookies, spread the love, and just you wait and see, someday, somebody meant for you will notice. And it will be even more special because you waited. My sister in law is 28, but she is SO CRAZY IN LOVE with my brother!!! so sometimes you gotta go it alone for a while before the real love of your life comes. Meanwhile, Valentine's Day is a great excuse for baking and getting great antioxidants from dark chocolate!!! And red roses, don't you love real dark red roses??
roses, cherries, chocolate, strawberries...just go buy yourself flowers if you must...it brightens the whole house up!
    love,
    Lizzie
